- Parking card (can be purchased at the City Management Directorate Parking Customer Service for a one-time card fee and the amount recharged. Only usable in District II. ticket vending machines (Municipal Decree No. 14/2010. (VI.24.), hereafter referred to as the Municipal Decree))

How many tickets should I purchase?
- 1 parking ticket: 1 ticket must be purchased for passenger cars, three- or four-wheeled motorcycles, three- or four-wheeled mopeds, and commercial vehicles not exceeding 3500 kg maximum allowed mass.
- 2 parking tickets: If the passenger vehicle is towing a trailer, an additional ticket is required for the trailer. Please note that if you have a parking permit, it does not extend to the vehicle's connected trailer!
- 3 parking tickets: The parking fee for motorhomes, buses, commercial vehicles exceeding 3500 kg allowed mass, agricultural tractors, slow vehicles, and the trailers or caravans they can tow is three times the rounded parking fee of 5 forints.
What should I do if I receive a payment request?
If you had valid payment or permit complying with the regulations described in the Municipal Assembly Decree No. 30/2010. (VI.4), please send us one of the following (original parking ticket, or parking permit for the disabled, or a color copy electronically):
- In person: 1023 Budapest, Bécsi út 17-21. (06 (1) 346-5599)
- By mail: 1277 Bp. 23 Pf. 21
- By email: [email protected]

Why don't the inspectors handle the problems?
The inspector's job is to check the payment of parking fees and the validity of permits, as well as to impose surcharges. For questions, complaints, and observations, our customer service staff are ready to assist you.
Why is there no zone sign at the beginning of the street?
The designation of the parking zone is done according to the 1/1975 (II.5) KPM-BM Decree (hereafter: Highway Code). The beginning of the zone is marked with a sign at the start of the zone, which is only terminated by the end of the zone sign. Accordingly, the start and end of the zone are not separately marked at the beginning of each street within the zone.
I want to unload... Do I need to buy a ticket?
Unloading is not considered parking as long as the unloading is continuous, and the parking inspector can see the movement of goods. An exception is when the commercial vehicle uses a loading disc issued by the mayor, in which case no parking fee is required between 10 AM and 5 PM within a maximum period of 20 minutes. The start time of parking must be indicated by a loading disc placed behind the vehicle's front windshield.
What is the grace period? 5 or 15 minutes?
It's important to note that there is no grace period for buying a ticket; its immediacy is prescribed by the Capital Decree. Therefore, it is advisable to buy a ticket immediately after stopping because retroactive ticket presentation is only possible if no more time than 10 minutes for paper-based tickets, and 5 minutes for mobile parking, has elapsed between the inspection time and the start time of the parking ticket. After the ticket expires, if you bought your ticket for less than 1 hour, you have a grace period of 5 minutes; if for more than 1 hour, then 15 minutes.
Under what conditions can a discounted parking permit be requested?
The regulations for vehicle parking and the fees for parking in restricted parking zones are governed by the Capital Decree and the Municipal Decree. These decrees also determine the conditions under which discounted parking permits can be issued.

Parking inspectors verify the existence and validity of permits electronically based on the license plate number.
Discounted parking permits issued for the current year are valid until January 31 of the following year!
On the initiative of the mayor, the municipal council decided that from February 1, 2010, in District II, parking fees need to be paid from 8:30 AM instead of 8 AM, to assist parents transporting their children to school, kindergarten, or daycare.
Why might a rechargeable parking card be useful?
Residential and commercial customers can purchase a parking card, usable in the District II Municipal ticket vending machines. The card makes payment more convenient.
The Municipality operates the District II parking system through the Mayor's office, which can subsequently be used by motorists with card payment.
The parking card can be purchased at the Parking Customer Service office (1023 Bécsi út 17-21) for 1000 HUF for individuals and 2000 HUF for businesses, which can be recharged in increments of 1000 HUF.
The business card can only be used for parking the vehicle registered at the customer service. Unauthorized use – in other vehicles – will result in a surcharge by parking inspectors. The system automatically recognizes which card was used to purchase the ticket, and the parking inspector's device will alert if the parking ticket is placed behind another car's windshield.
In case of lost or damaged cards, a new parking card can be purchased for 1000 HUF, however, the Municipality cannot refund the amount on the card. If the card is no longer needed, the card fee and the current amount on the card can be refunded upon presentation of the purchase invoice.
We remind our customers that the parking card is not suitable for surcharge payments!
